The Charlottesville-Albemarle Metropolitan Planning Organization (CA-MPO) will host two public hearings on July 27, 2016, including:

Amendment to the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP)
The MPO Policy Board will hold a hearing on the addition of the Free Bridge preferred alternatives projects to the LRTP’s Constrained Project List. The Free Bridge Improvements include increasing capacity on US250 in the vicinity of Free Bridge by adding 1 additional travel lane in each direction to US250 and making intersection improvements at the Route 20/US250 and High Street/Route 250 intersections. The total project cost is estimated at $27.9 million.

The LRTP is a federally mandated plan that outlines the region’s transportation improvements over the next 20 years. It states the region’s collective vision for the transportation, identifying and budgeting for federally funded transportation projects. The LRTP considers all modes of transportation.

Amendments to the FY15-FY18 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) requested an amendment the rail grouping of the TIP. It includes changes to four rail projects, with the addition of $287,315 in FY15 and $664,991 in FY16. The additional funds are from the Surface Transportation Program.

The TIP document outlines the project schedule and funding breakdown for regional transportation projects that are currently underway. Information for the FY15-FY18 TIP & the Annual Obligation Report can be found at (https://campo.tjpdc.org/process-documents/tip/).
