The transportation planning academy is a program of the Charlottesville Albemarle MPO. The training program focuses on delivering transportation related training for local officials, staff, and citizens. The program focuses on the fundamentals of transportation planning and best practices. The goal of the academy is to help members of the MPO maintain knowledge of changing processes; train future MPO officials and provide greater transparency of the MPO.

Academy events are held at TJPDC’s Water Street Center.

June 30, 2016 Noon to 1:30 pm
The MPO Transportation Planning academy hosted a workshop on transit planning. The workshop provided an overview of activities trends and practices in transit planning. The event featured two presentations, which were followed by a panel question and answer session. Presentations focused on providing insight into national and state transportation trends, an overview of transit planning and funding.
