    3. Provide separation between vehicles and bicycle/pedestrian modes
  2. Manage congestion
    1. Increase person throughput
    2. Evaluate best intersection control types
    3. Make efficient use of right-of-way for all users
  3. Increase multimodal usability and accessibility

Public Input

The public is welcome to contact the project manager, Lucinda Shannon at the TJPDC with comments anytime. There will be surveys and presentations for people identified as being affected by the study. If you would like staff to present on the project at one of your meetings, contact the project manager.

This project also includes two public meetings:

Public Meeting #1

September 9, 2021 | 7:00 pm

Learn about traffic concerns on Route 29 between Airport Road in Albemarle County and Deerfield Drive in Greene County and VDOT’s goals/objectives for this corridor. The public input gathered at this meeting will help refine the study’s goals and objectives used to guide the study.

Public Meeting #2

May 19, 2022 | 7:00 pm

The second public meeting presented the preliminary intersection upgrades that VDOT’s consultants identified for the following intersections.

  • US 29/Matthew Mill Road
  • US 29/Frays Mill Road
  • US 29/Boulders Road
  • US 29/Camelot Drive
  • US 29/Lewis and Clark Drive
  • US 29/Airport Road
