TJPDC staff has completed all work under this grant awarded through the Federal Highways Administration. As part of project deliverables, TJPDC has established a new Eco-Logical homepage which includes a description of the Eco-Logical approach, a user guide for the Tool (referred to as the Regional Ecological Framework, or REF), and a summary of the Eco-Logical Pilot Project: Free Bridge Area Congestion Relief. A Final Report detailing the use of the REF in the analysis and prioritization of transportation projects through the Commonwealthโ€™s HB2 process is also available online.

TJPDC staff presented information about the project at three events in September and October:

  • The 2015 International Conference on Ecology and Transportation (ICOET), held September 20-24, 2015 in Raleigh, North Carolina, as part of a panel discussion on implementing the Eco-Logical Approach
  • The 26th Annual Virginia Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Conference, held October 19-20, 2015 at the University of Virginia
  • Federal Highways Administration (FHWA) Eco-Logical Peer Exchange , held October 14 and 15th in Washington, DC.
